The Threat Is Already Here

Harvest Now, Decrypt Later (HNDL) isn't a future risk - it's an active strategy. Nation-state adversaries and sophisticated threat actors are intercepting encrypted traffic today, stockpiling it for the moment quantum computing makes classical cryptography breakable. For organizations managing identity credentials, certificates, and authentication workflows, the data in transit between users and portals is exactly the kind of high-value target HNDL campaigns are designed to capture.

Axiad isn't waiting for Q-Day. We're moving now.

What's Coming - May 19, 2026

Starting May 19, 2026, customers migrated to Axiad's new network infrastructure will benefit from quantum-resistant protection across all Axiad Conductor portal communications. Here's what's under the hood:

TLS 1.3 with Post-Quantum Cryptography (PQC) Cipher Suite Support Conductor portals will advertise support for TLS 1.3 cipher suites enhanced with NIST-standardized post-quantum key encapsulation. When a client application supports and requests PQC key exchange, Conductor portals will negotiate it automatically - delivering quantum-resistant session protection without any manual configuration.

ML-KEM (Module-Lattice-Based Key Encapsulation Mechanism) Conductor portals now offer ML-KEM - the NIST-selected standard (FIPS 203) for post-quantum key exchange. Clients that support ML-KEM can negotiate it during the TLS handshake, ensuring that session keys established between users and Conductor portals cannot be retroactively compromised, even by a future cryptographically-relevant quantum computer. Most modern browsers and operating systems already support PQC cipher suites, meaning many of your users are protected.

Hybrid Key Exchange When PQC is negotiated, Conductor portals use a hybrid approach - combining classical elliptic-curve key agreement with ML-KEM. This delivers quantum resistance without sacrificing the proven security guarantees of today's cryptography - a belt-and-suspenders model that meets both current compliance requirements and future-state readiness. Clients that don't yet support PQC will continue to connect securely over standard TLS 1.3 using classical algorithms.

What This Means for You

  • HNDL Immunity - Encrypted sessions captured today will remain indecipherable, even in a post-quantum future.

  • Zero Client-Side Changes - Protection is applied at the infrastructure layer. Your users and administrators don't need to change a thing.

  • Compliance-Forward Posture - Aligns with NIST PQC standards, NSA CNSA 2.0 guidance, and emerging federal quantum-readiness mandates.

  • Automatic Enablement - If you're already on Axiad's new network infrastructure, quantum-resistant connection activates automatically on May 19. No action required on your part.

  • Not Yet Migrated? - Reach out to your Axiad account team to get scheduled. Migration is the only prerequisite to unlock quantum-resistant portal security.

The Bottom Line

Quantum computing will eventually break the encryption we rely on today. The question isn't if - it's when. Starting May 19, Axiad Conductor ensures that your identity infrastructure isn't a liability in that future.

And this is just the first step. Later this year, Conductor will take the next leap in the PQC journey - enabling organizations to issue post-quantum certificates for both human and non-human identities. From quantum-resistant portals today to quantum-safe credentials tomorrow, Axiad is building a complete post-quantum identity lifecycle.

May 19, 2026. Your portals. Your credentials. Quantum-ready - and this is only the beginning.

Are Your Other Applications Quantum-Ready?

Conductor portals are just the beginning. If you're wondering whether the rest of your application landscape is prepared for the post-quantum era, Axiad's Quantum Assessment Tool can help. Test your applications' quantum resistance in seconds — no installation, no commitment.

Go Beyond Conductor - Get Fully PQC-Ready with Axiad Mesh

Quantum readiness doesn't stop at portal security. Your organization manages hundreds of applications, systems, certificates, and cryptographic keys - and every one of them needs a path to post-quantum resilience. Axiad Mesh gives you the visibility and action plan to get there, mapping your entire identity and cryptographic footprint against PQC readiness so you can prioritize, remediate, and prove compliance across your environment.
