# MacOS PKI Integration with Safari

If a server requests a certificate for authentication, Safari automatically prompts you for which certificate to present. Safari’s client certificates and related preferences are stored in Keychain Manager. When you select a certificate to use with a web site, it stores an entry in the Keychain Manager with a kind of identity preference.

## Customize Your Certificate Entries

NOTEBy default, Safari stores the certificate only for the exact page you are on at the time of authentication, and both the name and location are set to the page URL.

1. In the Finder, navigate to **Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access**.
2. Click **My Certificates**.
3. Right-click the certificate and select **New Identity Preference**.
4. In the pop-up window, modify the URL (you can use wildcards in this field).
5. Click **Add**.  
The certificate entry is updated.

## Locate Certificate and Identity Preferences Entries

1. In the Finder, navigate to **Applications > Utilities > Keychain Access**.
2. Select **All Items**.
3. Search for the partial URL and/or certificate name as appropriate.  
The certificate name or URL displays in the results list.
