# Renew a Certificate / Credential

Renew your identity device credentials and certificates before they expire.

> Note
> 
> Certificate renewal is available if it matches the renewability criteria (such as nearing expiration or expired). By default, the renewability criteria is set to 30 days. To change this, contact [Axiad Customer Success](mailto:customer.success@axiad.com).

## Renew an Identity Device Certificate / Credential

1. Connect your identity device to your machine.
2. On the **My Identities** page, locate the device with the credential you need to renew.
3. In the **Actions** column, click **Update**.

1. Enter the current PIN.
2. Click **Next**.

1. Wait for the process to complete.

1. Once completed, you will see a Success Message.
2. Click **Done** to return to the **My Identities** page.

## To Renew a Windows Hello for Business Certificate / Credential

1. On the **My Identities** page, locate the Windows Hello for Business certificate / credential you need to renew.
2. In the **Actions** column, click **Update**.
3. Enter a **New PIN**.
4. **Confirm** the new PIN.
5. Click **Next**.
6. Once completed, you will see a Success Message.
7. Click **Done** to return to the **My Identities** page.
